POKEDSL

The NDSL is a bit complicated to open and work on - there's a handful of delicate ribbon cables and connectors, as well as screws that are easy to strip. Having a good pair of tweezers, a spudger and a good screwdriver will make things easier.

I do not recommend this mod for beginners. The first NDSL I shell swapped I stripped the plastic screw inserts, ripped a cable, broke the digitizer and cracked the plastic housing because I didn't remove the bezel from the bottom display.

Second go around I learned a lot from the first attempt, and I think this device came out great!

I replaced the bottom digitizer with a glass one. I could have found one cheaper on AliExpress, but I would probably still be waiting for that part to arrive.

I added a USB-C port to this NDSL which is a good option if you have a NDSL with a broken charging port. I purchased 3 of them off of Etsy from Faceless Tech and they shipped from Europe, showing up rather quickly.

Installation was not super simple, lining up the USB-C daugherboard perfectly is a must if you do not want to cut the shell. It took me a few tries to get it right, but once I did it looks fantastic.

I plan to create documentation on this installation soon.

I added the price of shipping these USB-C ports to the total cost, assuming you are only purchasing one.
